Geocaching is an outdoor scavenger hunting game where participants use GPS-enabled devices to navigate to hidden containers, called geocaches, located all around the neighbourhood. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of geocaching, including how to use GPS devices or smartphone apps to navigate to geocache locations, decipher clues, and log their finds. Students will learn how to read GPS coordinates, calculate distances, and plot routes to locate hidden treasures. The class will then work collaboratively to crack codes, decipher clues, and unlock the secrets of each cache. (Students own devices recommended).
