Why do you think it is important for students to be computer/technology literate?
Being computer literate today is as important as it was to be literate for students 30 years ago. Why? Many common jobs are vanishing, and getting replaced by computer programs and technology. Occupations like librarians and taxi drivers will likely not exist by the time these students hit the workforce, but we will be in need of database managers, and autonomous-car mechanics.

What do you think is the most important computer skill? Why?
Adaptability. Programming languages and computer trends change every month, and being able to adjust and stay current is the most important thing you can learn.

You teach the new YouTube pod! Why are students so interested in being YouTube creators today?
There are 4 billion YouTube video-views every day. Since anyone can make their own channel, anyone now has the ability to reach a huge audience. Whether they are interested in educating others, being part of a global community, or just want to make people laugh, there are many noble reasons to become a YouTuber.

Is a YouTube creator a legitimate career?
A very tiny percentage of YouTubers make their living from YouTube, but of the ones that are successful some have become millionaires. Is it a good idea to bank on being the next YouTube-star as your future career plan? Absolutely not. But, knowing how to make good YouTube videos will certainly improve your hire-ability for many positions, and can massively grow your future life-opportunities.

How do your loves of science and technology mix?
There is a beautiful continuum between all major subjects, and I certainly see science and technology as two sides of the same coin. And so, as someone who has an unusual aversion to acronyms, I do quite like one: STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics).
