Javad Meghrazi

Javad grew up in Tehran, Iran. Since he was a child, he loved watching nature documentaries, specifically the ones about coral reefs. In high school, he decided to pursue biology more seriously and participated in the Biology Olympiad, where he dived deeper into many areas of biology and loved all of them. He decided to pursue ecology and evolution to understand how evolution has shaped the diversity of life on our planet and how this diversity will be impacted by climate change and human activities.

He obtained his B.Sc. in biotechnology from the University of Tehran, followed by an M.Sc. in mathematical modeling of biological phenomena at UBC. He has more than 7 years of experience teaching biology and mathematics to high school students and undergrads and is going to teach science, biology, and math at BrainBoost.

Javad loves helping his students find what they are passionate about and witnessing them grow and come up with their own ways of thinking about the world. He loves to share his passion for biology and convince you why biology is unique.

Outside of school, you can find him walking in the woods and by the water, hiking, traveling, and sometimes diving!
