On March 1st, BrainBoost ran a successful earthquake drill. Every student and employee had received training and instructions in advance, and then we put our skills to the test. Our fire alarm served as our simulated earthquake, and when it rang BrainBoosters had been instructed to drop, cover and hold until the shaking stopped. After our pretend-quake was over, we gathered in the Vancity courtyard where students were counted by their team leaders. In the event of a real earthquake, we will repeat these actions, and also move together to Kitsilano Community Center where the city will have personnel and where parents can pick up their children. We will also post updates to our social media accounts. On the rainy Tuesday of our drill, no one was harmed and the building is still standing.
