Last month, three BrainBoost students went to the Kids Hospital Research Open House! It was an opportunity to engage in an interactive morning event that offered them the chance to visit research labs, interact with research trainees and participate in research activities. The morning opened with an hour lecture by a doctor where they discussed the connection between OCD and sleep patterns. Then, they were broken into smaller groups and could explore research topics like what CO2 says about your metabolism, mice genetics, and vaccinations.
?I got a lot out of it and I found it interesting. I like learning about mice genetics and eye genetics. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is interested in public health and medicine because it was long and discussed big concepts.? – Calla
